The Diploma in Cloud Computing and Cyber Security (DCC&CS) trains you deeply in the two technical skills Africa’s employers say they need most and can find least: cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity — not as brief topics within a general IT diploma, but as a genuine, sequential specialisation.
Diploma in Cloud Computing and Cyber Security
2 Years | 4 Semesters
240 credits (60 credits per semester)
Level 5
Full-Time, Campus Learning
16 modules
One Work-Integrated Learning placement (Semester 4) plus a Diploma Project
60% overall average → direct entry to Year 3 of LUE’s BIT&ET Bachelor’s degree
Cybersecurity and cloud integration are consistently ranked among the most in-demand, hardest-to-fill technical skills across Africa.
A dedicated sequence — networking → cloud infrastructure → cloud platform administration → ethical hacking → cloud security — most regional diplomas don’t offer at this depth.
Benchmarked against real industry certification tracks (AWS, Microsoft Azure, CompTIA, Cisco), so your skills map directly to what employers recognise.
The same articulation pathway as LUE’s DIT&ET Diploma: score 60% or better and progress into Year 3 of the BIT&ET Bachelor’s degree.
Computer Systems and Networking Fundamentals, Operating Systems and Linux Administration, and Networking Fundamentals II (Routing and Switching).
Introduction to Cloud Computing, Cloud Infrastructure and Virtualization, and Cloud Platform Administration on a major public cloud platform.
Introduction to Cybersecurity, Network Security Fundamentals, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, and Cloud Security and Compliance.
240 credits over 2 years (4 semesters): networking and systems foundations, then cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and ethical hacking.

DCC&CS graduates are prepared for immediate technician-level employment in two of the region’s most in-demand fields:
Graduates achieving an overall average of at least 60%, with no module below 50%, may apply for direct entry into Year 3 (Semester 5) of LUE’s BIT&ET Bachelor’s degree, with credit recognised most directly against BIT&ET’s own Cybersecurity and Network Defence and Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps modules.
International qualifications are accepted subject to LUE’s equivalency assessment and Eswatini Qualifications Authority (EQA) confirmation. Mature applicants without the standard qualifications may apply via LUE’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. All applicants remain subject to LUE’s Admissions Committee decision, which may apply additional selection criteria where places are limited.
Applications are considered by LUE’s Admissions Committee, and successful applicants receive a formal offer of a place, conditional upon final confirmation of qualifications and, where applicable, ESHEC accreditation status at the time of enrolment.
Every module is assessed using LUE’s standardised, criterion-referenced rubrics, moderated internally and, for capstone/thesis/dissertation components, externally examined. Marks are converted to a letter grade and grade point on LUE’s institution-wide scale:
| Percentage Mark | Letter Grade | Grade Point | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80–100 | A+ | 4.00 | Exceptional |
| 70–79 | A | 4.00 | Excellent |
| 60–69 | B | 3.00 | Very Good |
| 50–59 | C | 2.00 | Good |
| 45–49 | D | 1.00 | Pass |
| 0–44 | F | 0.00 | Fail |
| Classification | Weighted Average |
|---|---|
| Distinction | 70% and above |
| Merit | 60% – 69% |
| Pass | 50% – 59% |
